Membership Terms & Conditions
Declaration: By completing this registration, you request Mhasibu DT Sacco Limited to open an account in your name and agree to the following mandatory conditions.
1. Member Obligations
As a registered member of the Society, you hereby agree to:
- Comply with the By-Laws, the Co-operative Societies laws, SACCO Act, Rules and Regulations, and General Meeting Resolutions.
- Pay your debt obligations to the society without fail and save regularly to mobilize funds for lending to the members.
- Be liable for the society’s indebtedness in case of insolvency in accordance with the Act and the by-laws.
- Observe the code of conduct and ethics for cooperative societies and desist from any corrupt practices in all dealings with the society.
- Refrain from engaging in the business of money lending in competition with the society.
- Protect the image of the society and avoid unnecessary publicity, incitement, or careless talk that can injure the reputation of the society.
- Support issues put forth that improve the sustainability of the Society and promote the goodwill of all members.
- Buy and pay for shares and make any other payments provided in the by-laws of the Society.
- Attend meetings and education forums and take part in decision-making.
- Treat all Sacco staff and other members with respect and dignity.
- Ensure all provided contact information is accurate and up to date.
2. Data Privacy Policy
Mhasibu DT Sacco Limited (“us”, “we”, or “our”) is a Sacco regulated by SASRA to offer financial services. As an organization, we take our responsibility regarding the management of our stakeholders’ data very seriously.
Scope & Collection
Personal data encompasses personally identifiable information related to members, and any individuals connected to a member including but not limited to directors, guarantors, next of kin, nominees. Personal data may be collected to enhance our service delivery. It includes but is not limited to I.D./Passport Number, Date of Birth, Gender, Marital Status, Biometric Data, Property Details, Residential and Postal Addresses, Telephone Number, Financial Background, and Employment/Business Details.
Usage & Decision-Making
We collect your data to provide and maintain our excellent Service delivery, comply with legal obligations, notify you of changes, provide member support, and prevent technical issues. Automated decision-making may be used to assist with lending, financial crime prevention, and account management. If any automated decision affects your rights or freedoms, a human review will be required.
Data Sharing & Retention
We may share your data with third parties (e.g professional advisors, consultants, software providers) who act as our data processors under strict security measures. Your data may be transferred to jurisdictions outside Kenya only where lawful and necessary. We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for these purposes, to resolve disputes, and to enforce legal agreements.
Marketing & Communications
We may use your Personal Data to contact you with newsletters or promotional materials. You have a right to opt out of receiving these communications from us at any time. Please note that should you opt out, critical service-related communications will continue.
